ABOUT US

The Alliance for Rabies Control is a non-profit organisation with two branches:

• The Alliance for Rabies Control, established in Scotland in 2006 and the headquarters of the organization (registered charity No. SC 037712)
• The Global Alliance for Rabies Control, established in 2007 in the USA (a 501c3 organization)

A Board of Trustees are active with each branch.  The Alliance began in 2005 and was formally established in 2006. Today it is the foremost non-profit dedicated to eliminating rabies. The Alliance works in partnership to unite all stakeholders to tackle the deadliest disease known to mankind.

In 2009:

• Written reports of World Rabies Day participation were recieved from 105 countries
• 872,000 event participants were mobilized, at least 20 million people educated
• 1.3 million dogs vaccinated (total since WRD 2007 = 2,937,411)
• 35,000 classrooms and 1 million children educated in USA through new Shelter Outreach Program
• 10,000 Veterinary Outreach Program reached 10,000 veterinary clinics in U.S.
• A World Rabies Day commemorative stamp was issued in Peru
• Numerous projects were funded by the Alliance
